EMFIPRIM PU 2001 is a primer containing isocyanates.

EMFIPRIM PU 2001 can be used on different substrates (concrete, aluminium, wood, glass, plastics) to improve the adhesion of PU sealants.
Seals off the porosity of materials such as wood or concrete, thus reducing or preventing problems of bubbling under severe conditions.
May also be used as a barrier between sealant and paint to prevent migration of plasticizers.

Substrate preparation :
The substrates to be assembled must be dry, dust free and not have any traces of grease or other contaminants that could adversely affect the bonding performance.
If the substrates need to be cleaned, solvents such as EMFINET 683, methylethylketone (MEK) or acetone may be used. For substrates sensitive to ketones, use EMFINET 688/1.
The use of solvents must comply with local regulations. Check the compatibility of the solvent used with the substrates.
If necessary, rub down metal surfaces beforehand. After rubbing down, the surface should be recleaned. Allow the substrate to dry after degreasing. We recommend that concrete be cleaned with a metal brush.
Note : when using solvents, extinguish all sources of ignition and carefully follow the safety and handling instructions given by the manufacturer or supplier.
Application :
EMFIPRIM PU 2001 can be applied by a lint-free applicator pad or brush between 5 and 40 °C.
Thoroughly homogenise before application.
This product should be used within 24 hours of opening the protective seal on the bottle. Close after every use (any contact with moisture will cause the product to cure).
If applied in cold weather, store the packagings at 20 °C before use.
After drying, apply the sealant within a one hour deadline, proceeding according to instructions of its technical data sheet.
Cleaning :
Tools should be cleaned with EMFINET 683, MEK or acetone before the sealant has completely cured. After curing, abrasion is necessary.
